Robyn Woodward wins the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Pyecombe Horse Show

Forty-six competitors tackled the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Pyecombe Horse Show in West Sussex on Saturday and it was Robyn Woodward who emerged victorious.  Every rider was aiming to secure one of the two coveted Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and after two competitive rounds, an eighteen horse jump off unfolded.  Sixteen year-old Robyn Woodward made her journey from Colchester, Essex worthwhile when she claimed the top spot with Rudgeway Maestro, a 12 year-old grey gelding owned by Robert Woodward. Isobel and Henrik’s pre-summer 2018 blog

To both Henrik and I’s delight summer has finally arrived! This means lighter evenings and lots more Pony Club and Riding Club activities to take part in. We have been busy competing at mostly Riding Club events lately, but Henrik and I have an action-packed summer ahead of us.   Our most recent outing was to the BRC FOTH championships at Aston Le Walls, where we competed in the 85cm combined training. I was over the moon with Henrik’s performance, our dressage was a Novice test and one our 2018 aims was to compete in dressage at Novice level. Lila Bremner on preparing her horse for the Pony Newcomers

  Hi I’m Lila Bremner and My pony Lapislazuli and I have just started the season of Bluechip Newcomers and Squibb Foxhunter second round HOYS Qualifiers. Coming out of the quieter Winter season of Hickstead JC Qualifiers, I need to prepare myself and the ponies for the summer shows. For this I find the work and feed routine I do at home so important. For their fitness and jump I concentrate on improving their canter by doing lots of small gridwork and flatwork. Usually we will only jump the ponies once in the week round a course. I keep their week as varied as possible including hacks and lunging. Their feed is carefully chosen for maximum performance and the complete all round...

Shaunie Greig leads the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Arena UK

  The next Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round took place on Sunday at Arena UK in Grantham, Lincolnshire and it was Shaunie Greig who put in the winning performance against eighty-two keen competitors.     Each and every rider was aiming to secure one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and after two nail biting rounds it came down to just eight combinations in the final jump off.  Fifteen year-old Shaunie from Fife put in a stylish performance on board Alison Mcdonald’s 8 year-old black mare, Teagan Arla Rose, to finish in first place. Lily Freeman Attwood heads Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre

The 2018 Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds kicked off over the Bank Holiday weekend at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre and it was 16 year-old Lily Freeman Attwood from Shrewsbury, Shropshire who headed the 100 strong field of competitors. Each and every rider was aiming to secure one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and it came down to just seventeen combinations in the final jump off.
