Behind the Feed - Cinnamon (Low Calorie)

Behind the feed: Cinnamon, in Low Calorie Feed Balancer

Cinnamon has been used for thousands of years as spice flavouring in food. More recently, scientific research has shown that it helps to reduce the blood sugar spikes following meals and that if eaten long term it can reduce blood glucose levels and increase insulin sensitivity. This is especially beneficial as part of a super concentrated feed balancer as the daily feeding rate is also very small.

  • Rich in antioxidants - helping to protect horses' cells from damage caused by free radicals supporting overall health and quality of life
  • Natural anti-inflammatory properties - which can help reduce inflammation
  • Digestive efficiency - potentially reduces the risks of issues like colic by stimulating the production of digestive enzymes
  • Anti-microbial properties - can help protect horses from infections and improve their immune system
  • Palatable - Many horses enjoy the taste of cinnamon
  • Do not feed to lactating mares
