Not all feed pellets are made equal

As the owner of an overweight pony or horse, you may turn to fibre nuts or horse and pony nuts as a way to keep your horse happy at feed time.

This seems like a great solution, BUT there’s a problem, these types of nuts don’t balance a horse’s diet, AND they provide unwanted additional calories and energy your horse!

For your horse's long term health, they will need a range of essential micronutrients, vitamins and minerals that forage alone WILL NOT provide, even when additional fibre nuts are provided. This is where a feed balancer comes in.

Unlike fibre nuts, a balancer is a complete feed, formulated to provide missing nutrients (after forage provision), without unnecessary calories, perfect for a good doer ESPECIALLY during the grazing season.

What’s the Difference?

Fibre Nuts: For additional fibre, calorie and energy provision, but they LACK key micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids (find out more below).

Feed Balancers: For essential micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and probiotics to optimise gut health, encourage a healthy gut microbiome, and help prevent issues like EMS and Laminitis. The nutrient-dense formula ensures your horse receives holistic nutrition for health and vitality, with minimal calories.

Don’t leave your horse’s health to chance, ensure they thrive with a balanced diet.

What are amino acids? They are crucial for the daily health of your horse.

  • The building blocks of protein
  • They support muscle growth, helping to build and maintain quality muscle mass
  • Vital for building and repairing tissues, including muscles, skin, and organs
  • They help to break down food, supporting a healthy digestive system
  • They produce enzymes and hormones, such as serotonin which improves mood and more
  • They support proper functioning of immune cells, helping the body fight off infections and disease by producing antibodies

Proper amino acid balance is essential for continued performance, recovery, and overall daily health.

@bluechipfeed Are you feeding your good-doer horse pony nuts? 🤔 You might be making things harder when it comes to their weight. Pony nuts = extra calories they don’t need. A Low Calorie Feed Balancer = all the essential nutrients, without the weight gain. And the best bit? You can feed it straight from your hand—no need for a big bucket of feed!
