Henry Squibb & Clyde Barrows are victorious in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship

Fourteen year-old Henry Squibb from Brentwood, Essex added his name to the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship roll of honour when he took the top spot on the 8 year-old grey gelding Clyde Barrows owned by Patricia Squibb. Henry fought off 47 other challengers to take victory at the British Showjumping Indoor Championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre. Twenty-two talented combinations made it through to the jump off and it was built to allow for some galloping lines as competitors knew that only an accurate round in a quick time would do today. Tabitha takes top spot

Last weekend saw another Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round, this time at the fabulous Vale View Equestrian Centre. The winner this time was Tabitha Kyle riding Tanya Kyle's Nightgirl Van Het Sonnishof Z. This exciting combination jumped two clear rounds to finish in 36.85 seconds! Well done Tabitha, we'll see you at Aintree for the finals!

Rachel Proudley scores a win in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at the Harbro Scottish Home Pony

  The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round took place on Sunday during the Harbro Scottish Home Pony Show at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre (SNEC) in Broxburn, West Lothian and it was Rachel Proudley who gained herself another direct qualifying ticket, this time with David Wick’s Robe Silver Lady. Thirty-eight competitors came forward with the hopes of obtaining one of the four Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final, held at Horse of the Year Show in October. But Course Designer Mark McGowan had set a tough track with only eight combinations making it through to the final round.
