Wessex Shetland Pony Group Show rewards Champions

As Championship season gets underway, we can’t miss a showcase for the versatility of the Shetland pony, with Blue Chip sponsoring their recent Summer Show. For the last 11 years Frank and Carol Hodder, of the Eiger Shetland Pony Stud have organised the Wessex Shetland Pony Group, to unite Shetland pony owners and breeders, and capture their enthusiasm to enjoy and promote this lovely breed. They make excellent children's ponies, and are noted for having a brave and protective character. Jake Myers claims the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Bicton Arena

The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round took place on Saturday during the Pony Premier Show at Bicton Arena in Budleigh Salterton, Devon and it was Jake Myers who made the short journey and took the victory over sixty-two other starters.   Each rider set out with the hopes of securing one of the four Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and after Krissy Speller’s challenging track whittled the initial field down to twenty for the second round, it came down to just twelve combinations in the final jump off.   Fifteen year-old Jake from South Brent, Devon used every short cut on offer with Joanna Myers’ 7 year-old...

Jodie Burchmore-Eames lands the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at South View Equestrian Centre

The second of the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds took place on Saturday during the Pony Premier Show at South View Equestrian Centre in Winsford, Cheshire and it was Jodie Burchmore-Eames who clinched the win. With a starting field of 97 and only 4 qualifying tickets for this year’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show that will take place in October, many riders felt the pressure and only ten combinations went through to the final jump-off. 16 year-old Jodie from Northchurch, Hertfordshire piloted Jack Eames’ 7 year-old Mighty Mouse W Van De Dauwhoeve, with whom she won the Pony of the Year Show JC Grand Prix Final last month, to victory in 43.54...
