Tina Cook has Top Ten Finish at Badminton Horse Trials 2016

The 8th of May saw the conclusion of the 2016 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in which Blue Chip sponsored rider Tina Cook had an incredible three days of competition to finish in 7th position on Star Witness on her dressage score of 49.7 – a score which saw her lying in 42nd place after the first days of competition.

After an exceptional display of riding across country on Saturday, Tina finished well within the optimum time of 11 minutes 58 seconds to move up to 14th position and in strong contention for a top ten finish after show jumping on the Sunday, which she obtained after a faultless round allowing her to finish 7th overall amongst very stiff competition.

As well as a fantastic overall result, Tina also took the Frank Weldon Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the rider of the youngest British owned and ridden horse in the top 12, a well-deserved accolade for both her and Star Witness who only completed his first four star event at Burghley last September.

We wish Tina and Star Witness the best of luck for the season ahead and look forward to reporting their success over the coming year!
