Laddie ended up having quite a quiet August! We missed getting into the Hickstead CDI by one place which was really gutting to be so close yet so far! Then it was discovered that the membrane in our arena had given up and was starting to poke through the surface, so that was out of action for just under a month.

Dominic Wolfendale Update

I have just got back from the Hartpury CDI, having had a very successful show! We left at about 6.30am on Friday morning, as I found out on Thursday that Carl had managed to fit me in last minute for a lesson. He hadn’t seen Laddie since April, but was so pleased with how he has come on, he said the difference in his pirouettes was astounding! We then packed up and headed all of 5 minutes round the corner to Hartpury.

Dominic Wolfendale – My Experience at Hartpury Festival of Dressage

“Having spent the 2 weeks before Hartpury running round like a mad thing trying to get everything ready, finally last Wednesday morning (4th July) we left for Hartpury…in the pouring rain. I was going up to Carl’s for a lesson and staying there over night. My lesson mostly consisted of pirouettes in canter as at the moment they are mine and Laddie’s biggest weakness; Carl was very pleased with my progress and said Laddie was looking amazing.  On the Thursday morning I went for a hack from Carl’s with Fiona (Carl’s head girl) and then spent the rest of the morning packing up and watching Carl ride and train which is always amazing!

Dominic Wolfendale to ride for Great Britain!

Dominic has received the amazing news that he has got a place to compete for Great Britain in the CDI at The Festival of Dressage, Hartpury, in July! Dominic had this to say about his selection, “Laddie and I went up to Wellington Riding for a very wet premier league! However, they where the nicest people I have ever met at a show ground! Laddie certainly felt very well in both tests, which is great, as in my lessons with Carl I have been working on getting him more responsive and on the aids.
