Sheffield High School Equestrian Team In The Sheffield Telegraph


The Sheffield High School Equestrian Team were featured in the sports section of The Sheffield Telegraph last Thursday, the 17th of November.

The article reported on the girls fantastic performance at The National Schools’ Equestrain Association Championships, which took place last month on October 22nd & 23rd, at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre.

Sheffield High School’s Equestrian team are riding high after their first season in the saddle.

Initiated and run by the students themselves, they finished sixth overall in the Open 1m event at The National Schools Equestrian Association Championships in Buckinghamshire.

In the individual placings, Alice Turner was fourth in the 85cm while Sarah Holmes took fifth in the 85cm and second in the 1m Open riding Sprite III.

Sheffield High came eighth in the Dressage with co-captain Alex Chester 10th in the individual section.

“It was an amazing experience,” said Captain Katie Midgley. “Overall the entire team had a fabulous weekend and all entrants were supportive of each other throughout.”
