"I remember reading the prizes for the competition and thinking how amazing they were, I never in a million years thought I'd be the one to win them! I'd spent the week prior to the event really concentrating on my dressage as I knew the competition would be strong so a good dressage was paramount. You never have a test as perfect in an competition as you want but as far a tests go I was pretty pleased with him, but I didn't check my score before my jumping as I didn't want the pressure if we were in the top 10! We were the last combination to show jump and finished on a clear, as we were warming up for the cross country the commentators kept mentioning there was a very important combination to come. There was getting less and less people in the collecting ring, until I was the last one on the course and I heard my score and knew that I could take the lead so we headed off even more ambitious than before and finished on a fab clear with no time faults! It was an amazing venue with a fantastic flowing course, I'll definitely be heading back next year. A massive thank you to all of the British Eventing officials and helpers who make sure the event ran smoothly and the BE80T coaches for all their help and advice. And of course to Blue Chip for their support and prizes! I look forward to seeing what 2018 brings".
We look forward to following Ricki and her horse this year and watching them progress.
