December has been a good month, with the horses all looking in fab condition thanks to Blue Chip. Bertie has been working well and making good progress after his injury in the summer. His fitness levels are improving and we hope to get out competing in the new year. We were due to do our first show at the end of January, but this now seems unlikely due to lack of transport.
Our lorry was unfortunately damaged at the end of December, so we’re hoping we can sort something else out as soon as possible. Lloyd has settled in really well and has a lovely temperament. After a long search, I am delighted to have found my dream horse; he is making great progress with his schooling and re-training, and both my trainers think we have a great future ahead of us. Likewise, we were hoping to do our first show at the end of January.
With Christmas looming and the terrible wet and windy weather, all the boys have had a well-deserved holiday. Now with the New Year, April (my daughter) and I having been planning our competition aims. April and Robin have been really busy at competitions during October/November/December. They have been selected for the Pony Club teams – both dressage and show-jumping, Riding Club Junior Team and KLB School teams in show-jumping, eventing and dressage. They have had some great results, especially at their first RC BE90, coming 6th individually and the team came 2nd
