Jan/Feb update: Well, what can I say but “horrible weather”! I always find January a difficult month, as often there are very few events on and the gloomy weather dampens your “get up and go”. After the dilemma of my horsebox accident at Christmas, we are now on week five and the insurance company have been terrible. We have been stranded without a box and although good friends have let us borrow trailers, it really has made life difficult. Bertie is looking great and been kept ticking over, whilst we await some improvement in the weather. February will be a month for getting fit and ready for the spring shows. Lloyd has settled in really well, but had an argument with a five bar gate in the field, which resulted in 9 staples and two weeks box rest. Thankfully all fixed and back in work now. April and I have been getting our show plans for the coming season, which includes two riding club camps, the County Shows including RIHS, Windsor, Devon County, Royal Cornwall, Royal Welsh, Royal Bath & West and Three Counties. We have just found out April’s pony Robin is brother to a three-times HOYS winner, so we also hope to show him in the coloured and WH pony classes. I am on the Stockland Lovell brochure and website show jumping a friends horse Rocco, which several friends pointed out. The horses all look fab on Blue Chip feed and like most horsey people, “roll on Spring and some sunshine”. Karen Joynson
