In March I attended quite a few training sessions with different trainers, which gave Lloyd (Ever so Lightly) and myself some useful training tips. We attended our first dressage competition together and came home with a 1st & two 2nd’s, qualifying for the championships in April with 74% scores. Delighted is an under-statement.
We then attended the British Dressage inter-county team selection trials. Lloyd scored the highest percentage of the day, 72%, and we were selected to represent the Avon team. The event is a two day show at the Hand equestrian centre on 4-5th May. Bertie is enjoying lots of fun hacking and working on getting everything strong again. I can’t believe it will be his 21st birthday soon, especially as he was acting like a 3yr old on his hack the other day, tut-tut! April and Robin have been going great guns. Firstly they entered the Badminton Dressage grass roots trials, winning both classes against adults. They are now through to the Championships in July at Badminton House. Then taking part at the Kings Leaze Dressage again winning both classes with a whopping 78%, nearly 5% higher than all the adults she competed against. They are through to the Riding club championships in April. Then to top it off they were talent spotted for the BYRDS squad and will be representing the Avon County team at the British Dressage event 4th/5th May. April and Robin were also written about in Ridgeway Riders magazine and the local newspaper. So exciting times for Team Joynson. Thanks again to Blue Chip for their support.
