“I have had a great week with the horses. Annie went to the BYEH at Fieldhouse on Thursday and she seriously impressed us all as well as the judges on the day! It was 27 degrees with dressage in the indoor school – we were roasting, but held it together to score 22/30 which put us just around 27th out of 60 professional riders and their beautiful horses. Annie did the most superb jumping round to score 37/40, nearly top marks! That was the 7th best score on the day, we were so delighted! Our total marks were 69 which was just 3 marks behind qualifying for the top 10. She is now entered into Bold Heath 4yo class which I am really looking forward to.

Lady went to Frickley park this Sunday and I saw a massive improvement in her after a 2 month break. You forget she is only 6 sometimes with how grown up she acts so I didn’t want to over-run her this year, with lots of exciting things coming up over the next few months. The biggest improvement was the dressage; after a 44.5 in our last event she scored a 34.5 which was very competitive in the section, the ground was against us again unfortunately with the storm the day before so it was very chewed up. Frickley made a great effort, and moved arenas and fences to ensure we had better ground. Lady jumped out of her skin round a course that caused endless problems. Unfortunately she rubbed both parts of the same double for 8 faults. The XC was lovely and had just enough questions to get us going again with lots of lovely big bold and inviting fences in between. Lady did another brave XC round just picking up some time penalties which couldn’t be helped with the conditions on the day.”
