July has been a busy month for the Blue Chip Sponsored Rider team and has included new rider signings as well as plenty of wins, placings and qualifications across the disciplines:
Louise Doherty has had a busy July with her budding event horse Corky, and here she tells us a little about what she has been up to recently:
‘Corky has been on fantastic form lately winning both his British Dressage Bronze Prelim tests, qualifying him for the Petplan Area Festival and the Scottish Championships! I couldn’t be more pleased with him as he also finished his last two BE90s on a double clear! It’s the first time we have achieved double clears at this level so I’m absolutely over the moon with him. I put a video of our XC on our Facebook page which has reached 1,700 people with 700 views so far. You can hear the commentator announces that we are sponsored by Blue Chip too which was great!’

‘We have another event this weekend at Dalkeith, and then onto the Cabin in Aberdeen the following weekend to compete in the Petplan Area Dressage Festival. We are staying away this time too which will be exciting! After that we are competing in the Scottish Dressage championships in early September before more eventing at Dalston Green.’
It is with great pleasure that here at Blue Chip feed, we are able to welcome the very talented, Nathalie Kayal as the newest member of our sponsored rider team. Buckinghamshire based Nathalie has successfully trained and competed her string of horses up to small tour level and aims to continue up the levels and be selected for more international competitions throughout 2016.
Her current horses include the spectacular DHI Homerun, who she hopes to compete at Medium Tour level this year after attaining several wins and placing at high profile events, as well as competing on him at the Samur CDI3* at both Inter I and Prix St Georg level in April of this year. She also rides the eye-catching steel grey ten year old, DHI Bravo, who she competes at Premier League Small Tour level and has seen regular wins and placing’s with him in Prix St Georg Freestyle classes. DHI Cleverboy, a nine year old gelding by Sandreo is another of her mounts and the pair again compete at Premier League Small Tour Level.
Nathalie is a highly dedicated horsewoman and has shown passion and flair for the sport of dressage from a young age. Her most memorable horse was Othello Moor and after having previously having only show jumped, she owes her success to him; she says, ‘He was my first dressage horse. I had owned him since I was 13 years old and he was a four year old and he took me to National Championships through the levels up to Advanced Medium. He gave me the passion I now have for training dressage horses and competing them.’
This passion has proved itself in the reputation that she has gained at a rising star of the dressage world and we are honoured to have her representing the Blue Chip brand.

New Blue Chip Sponsored Rider, Tahnia Jordan-Jones has had a fantastic July, gaining excellent results at Welsh HPI show, winning GOLD on Anastasia Snook’s, Thyme Flies, as a part of the team and then finishing with the fastest time in the 138cm Horse of the Year Show class. The combination had only 4 faults over the whole week of competition to finish in fourth place overall! She also gained consistent placing’s throughout the week on another of her mounts, Oakhurst in the Spotlight, as well as winning a 1.10m class on Sulan Hollywood Knight, who may have gained a HOYS Qualification in only his second 1.35m technical and demanding Pony Show Jumper class, in which Tahnia rode spectacularly to finish 5th.
Since then, she has gone on to gain her qualification on Sulan Hollywood Knight to Horse of the Year Show, making her eligible to compete in the Leading Pony Show Jumper of the Year Class after placing 5th in the 148cm class at the British Show Jumping National Championships held at Stoneleigh Park.

New Blue Chip sponsored rider Kate Lewis has had her first shipment of Blue Chip clothing, feed and supplements this month and is already seeing results from putting her mare Vileva II (Evie) on the New Super Concentrated ULSA-COOL Balancer.
She says that ‘Evie have been a lot more settled since we put her on the ULSA-COOL balancer and I have ordered more as we are going to put all the horses on it!’
As well as finding success with the Blue Chip products, she has been out competing and both Evie and Nero (The Black Emperor) have been on fine form, competing in some major classes and gaining well deserved qualifications. Kate and Evie achieved a double clear in the Foxhunter class at Arena UK to finish 4th out of a highly competitive class of 94 combinations, before jumping clear again the day after to finish 3rd.
Most recently, Kate competed at Bishop Burton in the HOYS Silver League Semi Final on Vileva II, finishing 4th overall and gaining her a qualification to the final! She will be riding on Wednesday 5th October at the Horse of the Year Show and we wish her the best of luck in the final as she represents the Blue Chip brand on her fantastic mare!
