Jodie Crawford update

unnamedThe start of the year was slow for Jodie as she came down with Glandular Fever! We missed Aintree, Welsh Masters and Chepstow 2 star, however we did manage some good results at the Cabin Equestrian Centre in Aberdeen, with Telstar 0 winning the 1.20 and Mira 1V (Violet) in a second for RHS Foxhunter championship. It was also Ilonka VH Meyherhof’s (Inky) first outing and she was placed every day in British Novice and a few placings in Discovery! We also just missed out in Grade C RHS qualifier, but qualified both Telstar and Mira for the amateur 1.20 championship. At last weekend’s Royal Highland Show we had 8 faults in the Foxhunter Championship and 4 faults in the 1.20 Amateur. The weekend before that were at Bolesworth 3* International; Telstar could not come due to a kick. However Mira and Inky were well placed in their classes with Mira getting a second and a sixth place and Inky being placed 9th and 13th in British Novice! We were pleasantly surprised with Inky as the BN Ring was close to many items that freaked a lot of the young horses (big wheel, camel ride etc.) but she was fantastic, as was Mira – so a good 4 days jumping with many double-clears. This weekend we are going to Weston Lawns with the 3 horses jumping Inky in Discovery and hopefully trying a Newcomers track on her. Telstar 0 will be in 1.20 speed classes and 1.25, Mira 1V will be in 7 year old classes, Foxhunter 1st rounds and Foxhunter 2nd rounds, so fingers crossed. Then we’re back up in Scotland for a new venue for more classes as above at Ingliston Showground – this show will be at the Royal Highland venue and also has Newcomers and Fox 2nd rounds. After this show we travel back down south to Arena UK for more of the same – and then we are at Blair international Horse Trials. So a few busy months ahead, and hopefully some good placings!
