Blue Chip All Stars Academy: Meet the Finalists!
After the panel of selectors were posed with the task of narrowing down the 130 video auditions to choose the eight finalists to take part in the Blue Chip All Stars Academy, we meet the lucky riders selected to attend the camp held at The Talland School of Equitation for their chance to win a years’ sponsorship from Blue Chip and to become a video blogger on Horse and Country TV. Each competitor also won a fantastic selection of prizes, worth up to £1500, which includes:

Meet the Contestants
Aged 38, David, a barber from Northumberland who lives with his wife and two children found his passion for the sport only three years ago and has since been competing regularly in unaffiliated dressage and show jumping on his horse ‘Bam Bam’. David hopes to move up the levels in dressage and to start competing in affiliated events in the near future and is looking forward to the camp pushing him out of his comfort zone and increasing his confidence
At 20 years of age, Issy, from Greater Manchester, is the youngest contestant in the Academy and competes regularly on her 13 year old mare Gucci in affiliated dressage at Novice level. She hopes to progress to Elementary this year and fulfil her ambitions of becoming a professional dressage rider in the future, especially now she has earned the chance to train with Charlie and Pammy Hutton
Josh, aged 22, is an architecture graduate from Staffordshire has a string of event horses who he competes regularly on and hopes to make a living from working with horses in future. He has a selection of young horses who he is producing to event, but will be bringing his best horse, Betty, who has competed up to two star level to the camp.
36 year old Kelly, a mother of one from Somerset shot to fame earlier this year when she produced her own equestrian parody video of the hit Adele song, ‘Hello’. She will be bringing her horse Dave, an ex-racer to the camp, and up until the birth of her son four years ago, she competed regularly in affiliated show jumping, eventing and dressage. She was a last minute entrant to the process and is over the moon that she has made it on to the series!
Lucy is a 24 year old graduate of the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester and lives in Berkshire. She is bringing her horse ‘Bagel’ to the camp on whom she has been successfully competing at BE 100 level and her goal for this year is to move up to Novice. She is looking forward to the challenge of the camp and is relishing the chance to train with Charlie and Pammy Hutton
Aged 22, Phoebe is studying for a BSc in Equine Science whilst also running her own livery yard in East Sussex. She competes Ghost, her six year old Warmblood mare in affiliated show jumping events up to discovery level and hopes to start venturing into the dressage world later this year. She was ‘totally shocked’ to be chosen as a finalist and is looking forward to the opportunities the camp will bring
27 year old Rhianydd is based in the Vale of Glamorgan, and after a hip injury three years ago put an end to her international polocrosse career, she turned to eventing and found she loved it! She is bringing her new horse Bob to the camp, an ex-racehorse who she hopes will benefit from the process as much as she will and gain some experience from the training provided by the top riders involved
Stephanie, aged 21, is from the Hope Valley in Derbyshire and is currently studying for a degree in radiography and oncology. Alongside her studies, she competes in working hunter classes on her former show jumper, ‘Piggles’ who will be attending the camp with her. Stephanie also holds the title of ‘Miss South Yorkshire’ and hopes to add winning the All Stars Academy to her accolades!
