Georgia Tracey on Silver Dollar went clear in the 70cms showjumping class, narrowly missing a rosette placing by a matter of seconds.
The 80cms showjumping team consisting of Georgia Tracey on Silver Dollar, Alice Turner on Matslast, Brooklyn Wright on Soloman King and Olivia Roberts on Deerpark Rebel came 6th overall.
The 90cms showjumping team consisting of Sarah Holmes on Sprite III, Katie Midgley on Gargallo and Alice Turner on Matslast came 5th overall.
Sarah Holmes riding Sprite III came 2nd in the Individual 1m showjumping class and has qualified for the National Schools Equestrian Association Championships to be held at Addington on October 26-28th 2012. We had a fabulous first outing and are proud to report that every single one of our riders came home with a rosette – not bad for a first outing!
Following this we had a week-end competing at Princethorpe College, Rugby at the NSEA Inter-Schools Team and Individual Junior and Senior Dressage and Showjumping on 21st and 22nd April where, once again, we had success.
Our dressage team consisting of Cristina Moore on Annagorta Boy, Clara Payne on Buckover Highlander and Alex Chester on Gypsy Enterprise were placed 5th with an overall score of 191.3. Cristina and Alex were both placed individually at 5th place in their respective Preliminary and Novice Classes. This was Cristina’s first attempt at competitive dressage so she was obviously delighted with the result!
There was disappointment for Alice Turner and Stratstown when he lost a shoe in the collecting ring and was forced to withdraw but being a good team player, Alice sent her Dad home with the pony and stayed on with her Mum to support the team for the day!!
Olivia Roberts was placed 6th individually out of some 90 odd competitors with the first clear round of the day riding Deerpark Rebel, this is a new ride for Olivia and it is proving to be a very successful combination!
The 90cms team again were placed 6th overall – with Sarah Holmes on Sprite III, Katie Midgley on Gargallo, Cristina Moore on Annagorta Boy and Alex Chester on Gypsy Enterprise. Alex and Gypsy did really well with a clear round in 28.3 seconds!
However it is the 1m Team who had cause to celebrate, despite having 12 faults between them on very wet ground at the end of a long day they were way ahead of the remaining teams and came first overall! The team, Sarah Holmes on Sprite III, Katie Midgley on Gargallo and Alex Chester on Gypsy Enterprise were awarded rosettes, a sash and furthermore the Kingsley School Shield for Senior Showjumping but to top it all they have qualified for the National Schools Equestrian Association Championships to be held at Addington on October 26-28th 2012! Once again everyone riding on both days came home with a rosette!
We will now have our heads down for a very short time to allow everyone to concentrate fully on exams but we’ll be back as soon as we can to do everything we can to qualify everyone in time for the Championships!
