Competition Report – National Schools’ Equestrain Association Championships 2011

Last weekend the Sheffield High School Equestrian team headed to the National School Championships two day event at Addington Manor.

The event saw high school equestrian teams from around the UK come together to compete in a variety of classes in three disciplines: Arena Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage.

This is how the girls got on in each discipline:

 

Showjumping

 

Open 1m Team:

Alex Chester riding Gypsy Enterprise.
Sarah Holmes riding Deerpark Rebel
Maxine Sykes riding Balladear Six for Gold

 

Through to Second Round:

Alex Chester
Katie Midgley
Sarah Holmes
Maxine Sykes

The team were placed 6th overall.

 

Individual 1m Open:

Sarah Holmes riding Sprite III

Clear round and placed first, Sarah went through to the next round in the indoor school floodlit and with a second clear round is placed Reserve National Champion.

Individual 85cm:

Alice Turner – placed 4th in the class

90cm Team:

Sarah Holmes riding Simply Charlie
Alice Turner riding Matslast

The team sadly missed going through to the 2nd round by seconds. However, Sarah Holmes got through as an individual and had a spectacular round in 37.28 and finished 5th on an unlucky 4 faults.

Team 75 cm:

Sophie Rodgers riding Blue finished on 8 faults.
Georgia Tracey riding Silver Dollar had a clear round.
OIivia Roberts riding Jack, who were unfortunately eliminated.
Cristina Moore entered Smurf but sadly had to withdraw due to lameness.

Dressage
Individual Dressage Preliminary 19:

Alex Chester riding Gypsy Enterprise were placed 10th with a score of 64.55

Team Dressage

Preliminary 15:

Alex Chester riding Gypsy Enterprise scored 67.39
Georgia Tracey riding Silver Dollar scored 59.

Novice N35:

Rosie Sear riding Shovern Cloud Nine and Maxine Sykes riding Balladear Six for Gold, scoring 53.08 and 68.85 respectively.

The dressage team were placed 8th.
