This year sees leading feed company, Blue Chip Feed Ltd, celebrate a sponsorship milestone and British Showjumping is delighted to be announcing that Blue Chip will be continuing with their support of the Pony Newcomers Championship for the 18th consecutive year, making them one of the sport’s longest standing sponsors.
The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Series is for registered ponies in JD and JC that have not won a total of 500 points and they are to be ridden by Junior Members. The 2016 series will once again culminate with the Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s Genting Arena (5th – 9th October 2016). Hallie Lunn topped last year’s class on Little Boy De Carman and took home the coveted Championship title.
Sheffield based Blue Chip have a feed balancer suitable for any showjumping horse or pony, and each of the balancers contain digestive aids, a comprehensive hoof supplement, a respiratory formula, nucleotides, antioxidants and oils. Blue Chip also extends their support to all British Showjumping members via an exclusive discount on all online orders placed with Blue Chip.
Clare Blaskey, founder of Blue Chip, was instrumental in forming the alignment with the Pony Newcomers Championship and said “Blue Chip is delighted to be one of British Showjumping’s longest standing sponsors. As great followers of the sport, we feel it’s important to encourage young riders and to give them in some cases their very first opportunity of competing at the Horse of the Year Show. We have proved that this class produces future international riders, and as such we are very proud to have been part of their careers.”
Maria Clayton, Head of Communications at British Showjumping, further commented “We are extremely pleased to be announcing the continuation of Blue Chip’s sponsorship of the Pony Newcomers Championship. Their passion and enthusiasm for the sport has seen them sponsor the Championships for eighteen consecutive years during which they have seen many of the riders go on to compete with great success on the senior stage. We are unable to thank them enough for their continued support.”
Competitors have until the 30th April 2016 to qualify for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds. The Second Rounds will be held during May – August 2016 and competitors will be vying for that all important place in the Championship Final.
