After starting the search for the next Blue Chip Sponsored riders two weeks ago, the public vote is finally over and we can finally announce which Junior and Senior riders have secured one years’ sponsorship and selected to represent Blue Chip as their newest additions to the sponsored rider team.
In total, 3708 votes were collected and we can reveal that the winners are Tahnia Jordan-Jones for our Junior position, and in a landslide victory, Kate Lewis for the Senior section who won with a massive 60% of the overall vote!
Well done to both riders, who we are sure that will be excellent ambassadors for the Blue Chip brand. To find out more about our winners, read below:
Thirteen year-old Tahnia from Wiltshire, has four ponies and has had several major achievements including 2nd place in the JC/JA championship at the Blue Chip Championships at Hartpury this year, as well as qualifying for Hickstead in four consecutive years and seeing success in the 128cm national championship there in 2013. She has also competed at Horse of the Year Show for the past three years on both 128cm and 138cm ponies, gaining some excellent results in her classes and in 2015, she won the 138cm Foxhunter Masters at Stoneleigh
Her aims for the future are to win at Horse of the Year and Hickstead this year and to qualify again for the 2017 shows, but her ultimate goal is to be selected for the European Ponies Team in the future.
She believes that she can actively promote the Blue Chip brand through her 8.8 thousand followers on her Instagram page, as well as by wearing Blue Chip branded clothing at competitions and events she attends on a regular basis. She is also a keen user of Blue Chip products on her horses and will fully endorse them to the clients of her family’s livery yard and also to other fellow riders who will see the results for themselves when she is out competing.
Kate, aged 17 from North Yorkshire was our youngest entrant to the Senior category and currently has
three horses on whom she competes regularly, The Dark Emperor being her main ride at the moment. In past seasons on ponies, she has had several major achievements, including winning the Winter JA finals at Arena UK and the Dunglenn Supreme Prelim Championship at Scope 2015.
Her main aims for the future are to qualify for Olympia and compete on international level as she moves up the rankings with her new mounts. She is starting to jump FEI shows in the UK this season, but hopes to compete in Europe in 2017.
Kate has a huge social media presence with over 51,000 followers on Instagram, and 9,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel, which she hopes to use to promote the Blue Chip brand both online and at the shows she regularly competes at as a result
To keep up to date with both riders’ progress throughout the year, keep an eye on the Blue Chip website, as well as the Blue Chip Feed Facebook page and @bluechipfeed on Instagram and Twitter. We wish them the best of luck for the season ahead and hope to have plenty of good results to report throughout their year of sponsorship!
