Blue Chip’s Novice Dressage Winners Wow the Crowds


Hartpury Arena in Gloucestershire was host to another phenomenal dressage championships which saw riders from around the country compete for a National title.

Blue Chip sponsored both the novice open and restricted classes that were held in the indoor arena, from thousands of entries, 45 qualified for the final.  The Blue Chip Novice Open Class was won by Jayne Turney on Shirley Rixon’s Penhaligon’s Jupiter with 76.09%.  Jayne is trained by the famous Charlotte Du Jardin, the two girls have been friends for many years as Jayne, like Charlotte used to show ponies.

The Blue Chip Novice Restricted class was won by Hannah Brown on her own Sandro’s Storm who gained 71.09%, Hannah is a radiographer and fits in riding around her work for the National Health Service, she trains with Sarah Jane Lanning.  Sandro’s Storm was bought from Woodhams Farm Stud and Hannah has produced him through the levels.

Blue Chip’s Founder Clare Blaskey says “This year’s competition was the best yet, with some brilliant riding and lovely horses.  The winners of our classes were both exceptional and their horse’s really wowed in their tests.  It is a real privilege to sponsor such fantastic classes that produce some of the stars of the future.”
