The record breaking jockey Tony (AP) McCoy has had an incredible 20 year career during which he rode more than 4,300 winners! Reigning Champion Jockey for 20 years, AP has now retired after an illustrious career in racing and recently visited his Champion Hurdle winning partner ‘Make a Stand’ at Henrietta Knight’s yard.
Make a Stand produced one of AP’s most memorable wins in the 1997 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham where he led all the way, now 25 years old the chestnut gelding lives at Henrietta’s Oxfordshire yard with Edredon Bleu (whom AP won the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 2000). AP was amazed by how well the horses looked and Make a Stand was more than prepared to pose for a photo with the champion jockey.
Both horses are enjoying retirement on Henrietta’s yard and are thriving on Blue Chip’s new Super Concentrated Senior Balancer, which is formulated especially for the older horses, containing a complete vitamin and mineral package along with a joint formula and CushinCombo, which combines Chaste Tree Berry, Antioxidants and Omega Oils. Henrietta has always trusted Blue Chip products on her horses and says:
“For 20 years I have fed Blue Chip Feed Balancers to all my horses including the champions Best Mate and Edredon Bleu. They thrived on a mugful of Blue Chip Pro in each feed. I now use Blue Chip Pro on the younger horses that I am pre training as well as on horses that are sent here for convalescence. Not only does Blue Chip Pro seem to relax their digestive systems, but it also keeps the horses calm and happy. I like the way Blue Chip constantly updates its products and takes advantage of the latest research and developments in equine nutrition.”
