Jasper and I have had an extremely successful and busy winter and have won all the events we have entered so far! This means we have qualified for the IHDT National Championships as we
have won the Thames Valley Points league. The Championships are held at The College EC, Keysoe, Bedfordshire on the 5-7th April. This is quite annoying for me as it clashes with my field trip to Tenby, Wales but luckily my uni have very kindly excused me from the first two days of the field trip to allow me to go.
As well as competing at Indoor events I have also been to a BYD On Foot session where we covered Reviewing and Planning as well as a BYD committee meeting where lots was discussed. I have also
joined the BHDTA’s Marketing Committee which is really exciting as I get to be a part of deciding the future for our sport.
I also had my first visit to Olympia this winter, to cheer on my friends who won Team Gold in Austria last summer in the Medal Parade. My friend Ann got me a backstage ticket which was amazing and
we also got to watch the first round of the Extreme Driving which was breathtaking.
Recently, I found out I have been nominated and shortlisted for the Wiltshire Life Young Achiever of the Year Award which is a huge surprise and looks set to be a fantastic evening. The ceremony takes place on the 15th March.
Jasper and I have just restarted our dressage training programme which is hard work but will hopefully have us back on track in time for the start of the season. Theres lots to look forward to
with an invitation to the National Young Drivers Easter training camp on the 29 th March to 1st April and the South of England Carriage Driving Fair on the 21st April. We also have two indoor events next month as our final preparation before we go to Keysoe.
But to me the really exciting news this week is that I have passed my first semester at university! You can follow our progress on our blog on my website http://carriagedriver.net/ and now also on Twitter @Carriage_Driver
Hope everyone at Blue Chip is well and enjoy the pictures.
Love Amber and Jasper
