David Doel has achieved a fantastic array of results over the course of June, starting with a successful outing to West Wilts Horse Trials with Man About Town II (pictured) where he achieved a 6th place in the BE 100 class. He also took both Ferro Point and Dunges Don Perignon for a run out in the Novice and took 5th and 8th place respectively.
The following weekend saw him take the same three horses to compete at Nunney International Horse Trials, where Man About Town II finished 5th in the BE100 5 Year Old class on his dressage score of 29.00. He also entered Eisfee and Mr Hiho into the CIC ** and emerged as the victor on only his fourth time out with Mr Hiho, the twelve year old gelding who he took over the ride on earlier this year, after competing under Emily King and Oliver Townend in previous seasons. He finished well under the time and rode a very competitive double clear to beat Kitty King to first position, and also, he finished 10th in his section on Eisfee at this event.
Man About Town II was competing again at Chepstow on the 2nd July, where he came 5th again in the BE100 Five Year Old Class to qualify for the finals at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials at the start of September.
