Jessica Howard takes the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Champion title

Jessica Howard produced a nerveless performance to win the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship on day two of Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham. Almost half of the 24 starters jumped clear, setting up a jump-off that did not disappoint in terms of its intensity and exhilarating speed.   Despite being last to go in the jump-off, Bedfordshire-based Jessica, riding Tinkas Gentleman Jim, kept her composure to clip almost half a second off the previous leader's time set by Lily Freeman-Attwood on Capability Brown.   Courtney Young and Sky VI finished third, with Tatiane Mauree and Horseabout Zizu taking fourth and Lila Bremner, daughter of comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner, securing fifth spot aboard Lapislazuli.   Reflecting on her...

Native Original Blog - Dafydd has been on Blue Chip Native Original for around six months. The difference in both his way of going and his overall condition is astounding! Prior to being fed on Native, he was fed on bog-standard pony nuts and a molasses chaff. Olivia Sheppard wins the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Cherwell Competition Centre   Seeing off fifty-six determined combinations, Olivia Sheppard won the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round held at Cherwell Competition Centre in Oxford on Saturday.   With two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and after two action packed rounds it came down to just nine combinations in the final jump off.   Fifteen year-old Olivia Sheppard from Drybrook, Gloucestershire jumped Rachel Sheppard’s 11 year-old bay gelding, JAC Surprise Addition with precision to become the only combination to bag a treble clear.  With an early draw, Olivia took a more haste less speed approach over...
